CDT Links

Augusta, Montana

September 11-14

The first 25 miles out of Helena was difficult with a lot of climbing. It was some of the steepest trail so far on the CDT. It was a roller coaster ride without the ride with very little water as an added bonus. The second half of this section of trail was much easier and we reached the Benchmark Trailhead with 90 minutes to spare to meet the pre-arranged ride into Augusta for our resupply. It was an overcast day with a mix of snow, hail and rain.

I'm 58 miles closer to Canada with only 226 miles remaining! The next section into East Glacier is 135 miles with a 20 mile alternate around a fire. It will take almost 6 days to get to East Glacier which is A LOT of food ( 12 pounds) to carry. Pray for good weather!
